The CIPD Level 5 course is designed for those working in, or looking to progress to, management or senior management roles in their industries.
CIPD Level 5 qualifications are best suited for those already in HR or L&D roles who are looking to expand their professional knowledge and develop their skills further.
You can either follow the HR route with an Associate Diploma in People Management or the Learning and Development route with an Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning and Development.
Both of these qualifications are included on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England and Northern Ireland at Level 5.
Success at this level will give you CIPD Associate Membership status
These programmes are offered online or could be offered in the classroom to global companies with 7 or more delegates.
These qualifications are advanced and comparable to postgraduate level study.
On successful completion, you will become an Associate Member of the CIPD. If you have the relevant professional experience, you will be able to apply for chartered membership.
A CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma is aimed at intensifying learners’ autonomy and judgement so that they can strategically lead and direct organisations and their people. It offers the opportunity for learners to influence organisations.
These programmes are online but could be offered in the classroom to global companies with 6 plus delegates.

The CIPD Level 3 Certificate in People Practice is designed keeping in mind those who have little to no HR experience. We aim to develop learners’ knowledge and skills to build expertise while inspiring them to undertake tactical tasks that deliver value.
At Associate Level there are two qualifications:
The CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning and Development builds on the knowledge gained in the CIPD L3 Certificate in People Practice and is aimed at further expanding learners’ independent practice and helping them evolve into learning and development leaders and managers.
And at Advanced Level there are two qualifications:
The CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic Learning and Development further extends the disciplines and scope learned in the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management and intensifies learners’ autonomy and judgment.
