CIPD Level 5 is considered to be a challenging qualification for many individuals. It requires a significant amount of time and effort to complete successfully. The course covers a wide range of topics related to the context of human resources such as organisational performance & culture in practice, professional behaviours and business decision making including critical thinking and decision making and measuring the impact of HR on the business.
As well as these contextual topics, there are units covering more traditional HR subjects such as employment law and employee relations, and talent management.
The coursework is detailed and requires a thorough understanding of the subject matter. Additionally, students are expected to apply their knowledge in practical settings, which can be demanding. However, with dedication, hard work, and a strong support system, many thousands of individuals worldwide have successfully completed the CIPD Level 5 qualification and advanced their careers in HR.
The duration of the CIPD Level 5 qualification varies depending on the mode of study and the learning provider. At Bradfield, the course content is covered in around 10 months to complete on a part time basis.
The CIPD Level 5 is for those with 5+ years experience or can be a progression from CIPD Level 3 in People Practice. It's aimed at further expanding learners’ independent practice to evolve into leaders and managers.
Learners’ work will be mainly operational with some complexity. This qualification offers an opportunity for learners to transition into specialists using a framework of HR and L&D understanding, behaviours, and skills development.
