CIPD Level 5 Entry Requirements

This course is suitable for you if you meet one of the following criteria:

  • Experienced in an entry or mid-level HR or L&D role
  • Educated to degree level and seeking to study HR and L&D at a higher level than the CIPD Level 3 Certificate
  • Seeking to fast track your career in HR & L&D and keen to develop specialist knowledge, skills and confidence
  • Looking to step into a managerial role such as HR Manager or Learning & Development Manager (with typical salaries from £50,000 to £80,000)

If English is not your first language, we recommend achieving one of the following (or an equivalent):

IELTS: Overall score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 in each category

TOEFL: Overall score of 79, with a minimum of 17 in each category

Cambridge English: Grade C or above

How hard is CIPD level 5?

CIPD Level 5 is considered to be a challenging qualification for many individuals. It requires a significant amount of time and effort to complete successfully. The course covers a wide range of topics related to the context of human resources such as organisational performance & culture in practice, professional behaviours and business decision making including critical thinking and decision making and measuring the impact of HR on the business.

As well as these contextual topics, there are units covering more traditional HR subjects such as employment law and employee relations, and talent management.

How long does CIPD level 5 take?
