CIPD Level 5 Qualification

CIPD Level 5 course is designed for those in working in, or looking to progress to, management or senior management roles in their industries.

CIPD Level 5 qualifications are best suited for those already in HR or L&D roles who are looking to expand their professional knowledge and develop their skills further.

You can either follow the HR route with an Associate Diploma in People Management or you can follow the Learning and Development route with an Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning and Development.  

Both these qualifications are included on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England and Northern Ireland at Level 5.

How long does CIPD level 5 take?

The duration of the CIPD Level 5 qualification varies depending on the mode of study and the learning provider. Typically, the course takes around 12 to 18 months to complete on a part time basis. The course can be taken as a mix of classroom and on-line learning or online at scheduled times and with assignments but no exams.

Some learning providers offer flexible study options, allowing learners to complete the course at their own pace. However, it is important to note that learners are required to complete the qualification within five years of registration with the CIPD and with Bradfield we expect completion within two years.

How hard is CIPD level 5?

CIPD Level 5 is a challenging but achievable professional qualification. Learners must move beyond describing HR or L&D practices and demonstrate analysis, critical thinking, evidence-based decision-making and practical workplace application.

The course is manageable when you study consistently, follow the assessment criteria and use the tutor support available.
