Structured Study Plan For Outside Of The Classroom

1- Inclusive leadership for a chaotic world

The programme has been designed to help managers make the transition from transactional management to inspirational leadership and to enable them to steer organisations through strategic change processes with positive effect.

The aim is to help leaders prepare for their future needs in this fast-changing world by improving their skills and capability, by increasing their awareness of their leadership needs and learning new skills that will add to their effectiveness.

Who is the programme for?

This programme is for leaders with 3 to 5 years’ experience of leading people who are getting ready to deal with bigger roles and more difficult challenges.

This programme is delivered in English.

How is the programme delivered?

This is a 3 day in person face to face workshop for between 8 to 16 executives.  There will be a small pre-reading and online briefing as well as some questionnaires to complete.  Post program there will be a transference of learning to work projects which are tracked.

Succeeding in the future business environment depends on a new way of leading.  This is the philosophy of our guest professor, Masoud Golshani. Masoud has 37 years of management experience, has lived in 8 countries, and has worked in over 24 cultures across the world, including 12 years of living and working in MENA and in energy, telecom, banking, FMCG, retail, and manufacturing businesses in HR and general management roles.  Already delivered in British universities, this programme will be of benefit to corporate organisations embarking on large-scale change initiatives.

2- Key Skills for High Performing Managers

This course is aimed at managers who seek to improve their skills in managing their teams to deliver results. It is a blend of tried and trusted techniques and models that have been bought up-to-date against a back drop of unprecedented change.

This course has been designed for busy people who need to learn fast and need practical tools that they can use immediately. The programme has been designed specifically with the online learner in mind optimising digital delivery with interactive sessions.

The High Performing Manager Programme is made up of 9 live remote and /or face-to-face micro learn sessions each lasting 4 hours {with 30 mins for all breaks}.

Developing Self-Awareness as the key to Improving your Management Skills

To improve managerial performance we first need to become more aware of our own behaviours and their impact upon others. During this session a tool to enable improved self-awareness will be introduced. Participants will be encouraged to gather data on themselves. The value of being able to receive feedback and modify behaviour will be discussed in the context of leading a team. This is the first step in becoming a better manager.

Transactional Analysis and Neuro Linguistic Programming for getting your message across

The ability to communicate effectively is a key component management. Whether you are briefing groups or having individual meetings with colleague at any level in your business, this session will introduce a model to allow you to examine your own communication approach and understand how this impacts on those you are in communication with.

Facilitation 

As a manager being able to effectively facilitate your team to problem solve and contribute by expressing their view is a vital component of getting the best solutions and commitment to deliver. This sessions explains how to effectively facilitate to optimise results.

The Theory & Practice of Motivating Team

The achievement of team goals relies on having a motivated team. This session gives you a taste of some select models and theories and then explores their application in the workplace with some practical and simple techniques for motivation your team

Recruiting your Team

Appointing the right candidate is a key component to building an effective team. This session will allow you to develop a framework for eliciting the right information and show you how to reducing the risks of recruiting the wrong person.  We will also explore the difference between hiring for attitude or skills?

 

Performance Conversations

Managers often find having performance conversations difficult when performance is not living up to expectations. This session explores how to structure the conversations to ensure clarity and identify the causes of such shortfalls in performance and ultimately achieve an improvement.

Enhancing Personal  Effectiveness

Prioritising your work can be a challenge. This session looks at the simple rules that can be followed to optimise your management of time.  It provides a blend of theory and practice to ensure that you always meet deadlines and make the best use of your time.

Managing Post-Covid

How have employee expectations changed?

What are the new management behaviours / skills to optimise employee output?  Managing remote employees – hints and tips for an effective relationship.

The course tutor: Engin Mustafa

Engin has a Degree in Law; a Postgraduate Diploma in HR; a Master’s in Education and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development; a Fellow of the Society for Education and Training and a Qualified Teacher. He has a strong association with Kingston University teaching up to Executive MBA level.

Engin undertakes conference circuits delivering the latest research on Leadership development; he has also published extensively.
